Meghan Markle has made her way to America ahead of her and Prince Harry’s rumored tour this fall. The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly in New York City right now on a five-day girls’ trip.
Multiple sources confirmed to Omid Scobie for HarpersBazaar.com that Meghan is making a personal trip to New York to see her friends ahead of her baby’s birth at the end of April/early May. Meghan arrived in New York this past Friday, February 15, and is spending the time there shopping and enjoying food with her friends.
The trip was planned months ago, a source close to Meghan told Scobie. “The trip is a lovely chance to catch up with friends and spend time in a city she loves,” the source said. “This will be the last time a lot of them will see Meg until after the baby is born so it’s nice to share precious moments.”
Meghan is staying at a five-star hotel and was spotted on Saturday at Ladurée in Soho with her friends having macarons and tea. According to Us Weekly, Meghan was also seen shopping at Bonpoint, a high-end children’s clothing store nearby.
The visit, a source told Scobie, has been “relaxing. Nothing beats face time with your friends.”
Meghan will return to London later this week before traveling to Morocco for an official royal visit with Prince Harry from February 23 to 25.
